Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering Project Lead to manage a team responsible for delivering advanced Torpedo Guidance and Control systems for the U.S. Navy. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and leadership experience in technical, cost, and scheduling management. This position involves leading high-performing engineering teams, developing technical solutions, and working closely with senior engineering and program management teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage technical performance, ensuring the integration, testing, and verification of project requirements.
  • Provide leadership in resolving technical issues and ensuring project goals are met in terms of cost, scope, and schedule.
  • Develop engineering plans, manage risks, and ensure adherence to standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineering leadership to plan and execute project tasks, and ensure the team is appropriately staffed.
  • Conduct engineering status reviews, provide feedback, and take decisive actions to address any performance issues.
     
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership background in system engineering, cost management, and technical oversight.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance upon hire (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience in Navy systems, torpedo guidance/control, acoustic sensors, and secure technology is a plus.

Preferred Skills:
  • Expertise in Department of Defense guidance and control systems (current and next generation).
  • Proficiency in target detection, acquisition, and engagement processes.
  • Familiarity with acoustic sensors, signal processing, cyber security, and high-reliability systems.
  • Proven ability to take calculated risks to drive technical innovation.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, consensus-building, and navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Ability to effectively lead geographically distributed teams.
  • Clear communication of program risks and the ability to engage senior leadership for timely resolution.
