Summary:
A healthcare facility in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a dedicated and board-certified/board-eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician to join its Child Protection Program. This role involves conducting comprehensive medical evaluations for children who are suspected victims of abuse, including physical and sexual abuse, as well as neglect. The ideal candidate will be passionate about program development and medical education, as they will collaborate closely with other team members and local investigators to ensure effective communication in cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth medical evaluations of children in suspected abuse cases, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as at a regional Child Advocacy Center.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, and other medical staff.
- Maintain close communication with local investigators to ensure that medical findings are promptly relayed.
- Contribute to the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in program development to enhance the effectiveness and reach of the Child Protection Program.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
- Board Certified in General Pediatrics.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric residency.
- Graduate of an ACGME accredited Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship
- Unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania at the time of employment.
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in Pennsylvania.
