Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Surgical Services to lead and manage the Surgical Services Departments, including the Operating Room (OR), Outpatient Surgery, Recovery/PACU, and Central Sterile Processing. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring efficient department operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director will have a direct impact on staff development, operational success, and patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and supervise the functions of the Surgical Services Departments (Operating Room, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery/PACU, and Central Sterile Processing).
- Develop, implement, and oversee department budgets, staffing, and operational procedures.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure policies are followed.
- Facilitate departmental integration with other hospital departments for seamless patient care.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement, overseeing process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of staff competencies, annual evaluations, and professional development.
- Support staff education and training opportunities through partnerships with Duke LifePoint Healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State
- BLS and ACLS Certifications
- At least 2 years of recent experience as a supervisor of a surgical services line in an acute care hospital (within the last 5 years)
