Distribution Associate needed for a client located in Lexington!  Must have Manufacturing and Operations experience!! 

Hours are 5am-5pm

Purpose of Position

To perform packaging, material handling, and related record keeping in support of the efficient, cost effective, and timely receipt of incoming goods and shipments of Division Products to satisfy customer requirements and Division Standards with regard to quality, features, delivery dates, and product performance.

II.         Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent with demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Must achieve required hours of OJT/peer training and achieve company benchmarks on physical skill test on equipment used and written process knowledge test(s) after completion of training.
  • One to two years of experience in manufacturing or shipping and receiving.
  • Basic computer input knowledge/ experience and barcoding system knowledge.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize written instructions, facility documentation process, and customer specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a work group/team environment with regard to all job requirements, functions, and duties.
  • Must be able to utilize and safely operate hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, knives, work scissors, dikes, razors), nail gun, and torches.
  • Must have the ability to become certified/ licensed as a lift operator.

III.        Primary Duties
  • Perform inspection and packaging of reels, loading and unloading of trucks, rewinding of cables, etc.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts as required.
  • Prepare documentation related to shipments
  • May assist with receiving incoming shipments, pulling work orders for manufacturing, and delivering internal packages.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
  • Consistently must meet Division safety and quality standards.
  • May handle hazardous materials/waste in accordance with environmental/safety system.
  • Required to adhere to all Division Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulation in effect now and or in the future.

IV.       Working Conditions
  • Heat, cold, humidity and rain exposure working often in outside environment
  • Toxic agents which may be potentially injurious, dangerous, or hazardous
  • Machinery and / or tools which may be potentially injurious, dangerous, or hazardous.
  • Must wear safety shoes and safety glasses at all times.
