CIS is Recruiting for Shirring Operators "Immediate Placements"
Work Schedule is 12 hr. night shifts - 7pm to 7:30am. This position will likely train on day shift, from 7:00am to 7:30pm.
The Shirring Operator is responsible for operating machines which convert reel stock to shirred strands for packaging. Operator also ties knot in flat end of strand. This position is responsible for providing extensive quality assurance, troubleshooting equipment problems, and clearly communicating machinery malfunctions.
Job Duties -
•Position reel stock on unwind stand; thread and hand-feed materials through machine.
•Assemble caddies, ensure correct placement of polyliners, and match label information on caddy to information on set-up sheets.
•Operate shirring machine, trim excess material from strand, and package product according to customer requirements.
•Follow specifications for set-up, machine operation, and work piece dimensions using instructions and machine knowledge.
•Utilize computerized system to obtain daily production responsibilities and gather yield documentation.
•Conduct inspections of product to evaluate quality and performance, immediately stopping production and notifying management team of any significant quality issues or concerns.
•Adapt easily to new technology and equipment.
•Clean, sanitize, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment including housekeeping duties.
•Wear necessary protective equipment and exercise extreme safety during all operations; understand and observe all safety rules and regulations.
•Comply with all Devro standards to include safety, food safety, hygiene, and quality.
•Comply with all OSHA safety and food safety regulations.
•Perform end closer on product by knotting.
•Perform product inspections and rework as required.
