JOBSUMMARY:

The Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning. Will monitor and maintain all roll stock consumption and inventory levels, coordinating replenishment as required on an ongoing basis.

Will create, maintain, and distribute reports as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a positive, open, and welcome atmosphere amongst the team to everyone within the department.
  • Maintain an efficient, positive working professional environment within the department, ensuring positive engagement and support in all clients, suppliers, employees, and department interactions.
  • Collect roll stock ‘Bill of Lading’ from receiving lock box daily.
  • Match up and confirm receipt of all ‘Bill of Lading’ inventory.
  • Confirm consumption of inventory tags at regular interval to maintain accurate roll stock reports.
  • Monitor and order roll-stock from approved suppliers to maintain inventory levels as required.
  • Coordinate roll stock inventory with orders to ensure efficient full filament of orders.
  • Process incoming orders from sales through scheduling to each respective department as required per workflow (including Rod-Coating, Corrugating, and Slitting departments.)
  • Schedule line-up to support production on both corrugators, ensuring they are correct, efficient, and resolve any issues to ensure facilitating on time deliveries of all finished goods, including maintenance time adjustments.
  • Responsible for producing accurate weekly physical inventory as well as monthly production reports and other required reports from scheduling.
  • Provide help and information to Sales and CSRs as needed.
  • Monitor and assist with board grades and/or information when required for systems updates.
  • Confer with management to investigate and resolve any team concerns, complaints, or grievances.
  • Help with coverage and holiday relief within department as required.
  • Highlight opportunities for improvements to efficiency, process approach, efficiency, quality or other in both short-term as well as long-term elements of our business.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills to engage, inspire and support team members.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities an asset (to enable translation into efficient scheduled operation.)
  • Knowledge of factors driving costs in production and assets utilization, (to enable support of daily decision making that will drive efficiencies and costs reduction and will help highlighting areas of potential improvement.)
  • Safety conscious mindset while working with and around the machinery.
  • Team player and positive attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Predominately office-based role, however will require regular production floor walks as status checks, along with warehouse inventory checks & validations. The noise level in the production environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts awareness and support of all safety regulations required.
  • Must be able to support work across all shifts
