The KBA Operator oversees all aspects of projects from the instructions contained on a work order to meet quantity, quality, timing priorities, and inception to shipping using planning, monitoring and controlling processes.

The KBA Operator handles multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is open to constant challenge and change. The Operator will develop and maintain positive working relationships with all contacts inside and outside The Central Group. The Operator is a person with tenacity, drive, ownership and is communicative with other employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set-up the KBA accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Inspect substrate before run to ensure that substrate is to quality specification, particularly trim and registration.
  • Monitor corrugate quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, wrap and correct size.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operation the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Train and assist Feeder and Stacker with job duties on the machine.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
  • Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.
  • Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
  • Ensures Quality Procedures are followed
  • Intimately understands the requirements of the Work Order

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma; and/or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively to other employees and management
  • Organizational and time management

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office environment, photocopies, printers, etc.
  • Minimal travel to visit customers and between locations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted up to 50 pounds.
  • Close vision is required (e.g., clear vision at twenty (20) inches or less)
  • Colour vision is required (must have the ability to identify and distinguish colours)

  • Production and scheduling – 90%
  • Management -5%
  • Suppliers – 5%
