Sample Maker (Mississauga, ON)

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist Design Department with cutting prototypes, while also fulfilling requests from Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cuts samples required by Designers; follows priorities set by supervisor.
• Replicates dielines on Mylar film
• Become familiar with basic structural design styles, and create own basic packages when needed
• Checks inventory of supplies on a regular basis and arrange orders of replacements as required.
• Maintains sample room and warehouse in a clean and tidy manner; carries out routine maintenance on cutting table.
• Makes 2 daily trips between offices, and may travel to other locations when required
• Prepares packages for courier parcels.
• Ability to work with large and fast moving machinery
• Moderate lifting will be required
• Ability to self-prioritize and multi-task.

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail experience is an asset.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Basic Computer Skills (Office Suite)
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite is an asset
• Knowledge of any CAD software is an asset
• Driver’s License is mandatory- G2 or G
• Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Organizational and time management
• Forklift License (an asset, but will train if needed)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Office environment, photocopiers, printers, etc.
• Minimal travel between Head Office and Innovation Centre locations.
• Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
