Lift Truck Operator / Driver (Concord, ON)

If you embody integrity, teamwork, passionate excellence, we are currently recruiting a highly motivated individual for the role of Lift Truck Operator to join our team.

Qualifications & Training: Certified lift truck training, computer literate.

Duties:

•  Visually inspect lift truck
•  Operate lift truck
•  Prepare pallet loads to be unitized and stretch wrapped
•  Move pallet loads from place to place, including loading and unloading of trailers using the lift truck and scanning them onto proper bins
• Receive incoming items and sign off proper paperwork. Record in the receiving log

Requirement:

• Valid lift truck license required

• Shift work environment, currently on straight day shift; 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Physical demands and time breakdown:

•  Visually inspecting the lift truck requires the employee to hold a clipboard and pen. He must check off the checklist as he visually inspects each predetermined item. (10 minutes per day).
• Operating the lift truck requires the employee to sit in a seat and steer using the steering wheel and accelerate and brake by using the foot pedals with his feet. The employee will also use the lift and tilt controls by using his right hand to operate these levers. (Up to 4 hours per day spread out over the 8-hour shift).
• Preparing pallet loads to be unitized and stretched wrapped requires the employee to stand and walk around the loads. The employee will place the load markers in the loads (8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper), placing corrugated cap sheets on top of the pallet loads and operating the stretch wrapper and the unitizer controls by use of his hands. (Up to 1-2 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Moving pallet loads from place to place requires the employee to operate the lift truck as above, see operating the lift truck. (Time is included with operating the lift truck).
• Receiving incoming items and sign off paperwork requires the employee to unload pallet loads from trucks and trailers by use of the lift truck. Signing off and recording in the log requires the employee to use his hand to sign his name and enter into the logbook. (Up to 1 hour per 8-hour shift).
• Recording daily shipments in to log book requires the employee to sit at a desk and write with his hand in to the logbook. (Up to half an hour per 8-hour shift).
• Included in his 8-hour shift the employee also receives two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute break.
