Your next calling:
The Senior Corporate Affairs Specialist provides key legislative and governmental affairs support activities, analysis, legislative tracking, processes and research functions on behalf of the United States Corporate Affairs Office and all related disciplines. The Senior Corporate Affairs Specialist provides legislative and related support inputs, evaluations, and liaison roles related to external team legislative issues management, governmental affairs support matters, as well as stakeholder engagement coordination and key issues management functions for US corporate commercial support considerations.
Functions key to success:
  • Support the US VP of Corporate Affairs with the execution of the Department’s key state and federal legislative interests and priorities.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of a wide range of legislative areas, legislative processes relative to existing company operations and future commercial considerations.
  • Research and analyze state and national legislative conditions and trends specific to the transportation infrastructure industry, and status and climate of government and legislative actions across the country.
  •  Maintain individual state and federal systems for tracking/evaluating, and act as coordinator with all US concessions and commercial divisions.
  • Coordinate and manage administrative tasks related to all aspects of the Department's various legislative efforts such as contract management, meeting coordination, attending meetings in place of US VP of Corporate Affairs, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage US Advisory Group agenda, meeting schedules, the capture of issues, and implementation tracking of actions and budgets.
  • Act as a Department liaison to business development support operation planning, including select procurement support at headquarters, select field support, and principal department resource for corporate affairs matters on commercial matters.
  • Perform research to help inform corporate positions utilized in written position pieces, issue briefs, talking points, 3rd party articles, general communication and correspondence pieces for internal and external needs.
What you bring to the table:
If you have at least a Bachelor’s Degree, you are half way there with the abilities needed for this position. Do you have at least 4 to 7+ years of demonstrated experience in state or federal legislative affairs and/or governmental state or federal legislative processes and related activities? If the answer is yes, you can check off another box. Finally, experience within the transportation infrastructure industry would be the cherry on top.

Finally, in a technology-driven world, it is important to know your way around a computer. For this role, it will be important to know the basics of the following:
  • Familiar with federal and state legislature tracking systems such as Texas Legislature Online.
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other PC based programs.
Our working environment:
Cintra wants to ensure that all employees are comfortable and able to work in the type of culture and environment we have built our business on. Our office is typically quiet with low noise levels; however, you will often hear employees laughing and talking amongst themselves. Effective communication will be key for this role and will require you to talk and hear others. You will probably spend a majority of your time sitting and/or walking around the office, whether to visit a co-worker or make it to a meeting on time and there may be occasional long hours to put in if you are diligently working to complete a project and finish a report.  There could be a time when you may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, but not very often.
