Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) has an immediate opening for a qualified Dark Room Technician.  Individual is responsible for set-up equipment applicable to processing of radiographic film. Process film in accordance with the procedures approved by the Level III and in accordance with the film manufactures suggested specifications. Collect film from technicians and process/develop film. Sort film after processing and create packet according to job. This is a 2nd shift position.    Associate will work under the direction of the NDT Level III.    Interested candidates should apply at www.cppcorp.com/careers

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Places film against viewing screen to conduct initial and final reading and interpreting by examining castings for flaws such as blows, cracks, excess sand, wires, gas porosity gas holes, core shifts, segregation, etc.
  • Ensures all developed film contains the proper number of X-ray shots, types of angles, part numbers and other requirements specified by the Company or customers.
  • Uses densitometer to ensure film coming out of the developer meets density specifications.
  • Ensures all film is properly developed by checking appropriate gauges, temperatures, etc.
  • As required, types up customer reports identifying X-ray reading results and interpretations.
  • Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to work overtime

  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management

Qualifications
  •  High school diploma or equivalent.
  •  1-2 years of experience in a foundry/manufacturing environment a plus.
  •  General understanding of the film cycle and process (i.e. Developer, fixer, wash bath and dryer) prior to processing of film under the guidance of a level II or III.
  • Bilingual a plus
