Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team! This role reports to the Operations Supervisor at our plant in Pomona, CA.  This position is a key member of our team, working closely with production, engineering, quality and executive team members to plan and acquire products and supplies at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and other factors per specifications for the manufacturing of aerospace products. This position will manage suppliers to ensure on time delivery of product that meets quality requirements.  CPP- Pomona offers a competitive compensation & benefits package which includes medical/dental/vision/life insurance, employer subsidized 401K, paid vacation and paid holidays.
Major Responsibilities
  • Purchase assigned parts and materials (raw & manufactured), using analysis tools provided, including an MRP system
  • Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases to ensure on-time delivery
  • Continually review the overall “value” offered by existing suppliers
  • Management of Key Performance Indicators (fill rate, OTD, etc.) and the implementation of solutions to meet objectives.
  • Perform analysis of supply and demand, lead time, price, supplier performance and sales forecast to determine appropriate source, placing purchase orders to ensure product flow
  • Resolve issues with suppliers, including recovery from late orders and rejected product
  • Contribute to management reports, including status of open purchase orders, backorder list, and supplier measurements
  • Manage projects as assigned by the manager, working with peers in other departments
  • Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development
About You
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role required for this position
  • Bachelor’s degree in business preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience will be considered as well
  • Excellent written, verbal, & presentation communications skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including directly with our customers
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
