JOB SUMMARY

Provide a brief description as to the primary purpose of this job (no more than three to five sentences):
Offers support and direction to hourly staff to meet company productivity and quality objectives and support Managers who are responsible for day-to-day operations.  Typically, leads work in assigned department 60% -70% of the time and working with other department leads, supervisors, etc. on training and increasing productivity of their department the remainder of the time.  Train current and new employees to effectively perform duties in assigned department.  Maximize productivity at minimum cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

List essential job functions that comprise the job; describe in terms of actions (verbs) and desired outcomes in order of most important first:
  • Train newly hired employees on basic skills and all employees on new procedures and processes using work instructions and other available training tools
  • Make sure hourly employees that are in assigned department receive adequate training and support to ensure a well-informed workforce.
  • Implement company policies.  Inform supervisor of employee relations activities and issues with discipline, recognition and investigation with supervisor’s and Human Resources assistance.
  • Assist supervisor in devising corrective actions that eliminate problems and defects
  • Work with Managers to notify them of personnel issues to ensure compliance with CPP’s employment policies.
  • Ensure production goals are met along with product quality standards to ensure on-time shipments and only the best products are shipped to customers.
  • Direct work activities of assigned personnel to meet production schedules and maintain quality standards.
  • Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to work overtime

  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS

List the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: 4 years of Investment Casting experience
  • Certifications/Licenses:
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Microsoft Office
WORKING CONDITIONS

List working conditions for this position:
  • Working Environment: Indoor working environment within various areas of a foundry facility
  • Required PPE: PEE varies throughout the plant, check with area Supervisor to ensure proper PPE is being used
  • Safety Glasses:  Needed in all areas of the plant
  • Steel toe shoes:  Needed in all areas of the plant
