Job Summary
The Area Supervisor - Post Cast is responsible for safely and efficiently executing the operating plan for all back end Production departments in an aerospace investment casting facility, while driving continuous improvement, developing people, and supporting the creation of budgets, schedules, and operating plans.  Areas of responsibility include grinding, grit blasting, heat treatment, straightening, inspection, and other departments as requested. The Supervisor will be accountable for coordinating activities and permanently solving problems to achieve goals in the areas of safety, quality, throughput, inventory, productivity, and cost.
Essential job functions
• Drives a proactive, zero injury safety culture.  Identifies and fixes physical hazards before an injury occurs.  Monitors team member behavior to identify real-time risk factors, and frequently coaches team on specific actions to reduce risk of injury.  Conducts audits and verifies compliance to legal and company standards.  Enforces excellent housekeeping.
• Reduces scrap and rework by enforcing existing quality standards and process controls.  Takes ownership for assigned root cause and corrective action investigations.  Becomes an expert in rework cycles and their causes.  Implements metrics and controls to identify hidden problems and verify effectiveness of process changes.  Helps drive the prioritization and implementation of process improvements.
• Achieves objectives for labor and non-labor variable cost, productivity, and absorption.  Becomes a master of the daily P&L and throughput/inventory reports, their underlying math, and the effect of shop floor events and decisions on the results.  Utilizes knowledge of financials and constraints to analyze past performance, predict future performance, determine causes of variances to goals, and implement solutions to permanently solve the root causes.  Creates quantifiable, time based recovery plans for all underperforming metrics.
• Achieves daily level-loaded throughput to dock in the correct product mix to support shipping plans.
• Drives daily attainment of inventory and throughput goals in each department.  Assists in creation of future goals.
• Enforces 100% work center schedule compliance.  Collaborates with planning functions to create and adjust efficient schedules.  Attends production meetings.  Maintains accuracy of work center inventory reports to support accurate scheduling.  Creates recovery plans if work centers fall behind schedule. 
• Improves capability, engagement, and morale of team members through positive leadership, mentoring, coaching, and training.
• Identifies and leads the implementation of continuous improvements using a mix of ‘just-do-it’ and advanced problem solving techniques, depending on specific situation.
• Operates with high level of autonomy, urgency, accountability, courage, transparency, and entrepreneurship.

• Monthly production goods and services as per the estimated manufacturing cost and minimum inputs of resources.
• Produce right quality goods and services as per the established standards and specifications.

• Minimize the total cost of production with continuous elimination of non-value added activities and improving labor productivity.
About You:
• 4+ years previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Proficient MS Office suite of software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.)
• Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills
• Strong commitment and focus on safety
