Document, organize and review inspection data for new part number FAIs (First Article Inspections).  Create and document part number procedures and travelers.  Help with various other tasks in the Quality department as needed.  Flexibility to work some weekends, as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Read, understand and comprehend documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, Product Engineering Instructions (PEIs) and Quality Engineering Instructions (QEIs).
  • Maintain an accurate and complete document control system.
  • Where necessary, review outside vendor dimensional inspection data and validate accuracy of dimensional reports.
  • Interact with Team Leaders, Engineers and Manufacturing Managers regarding measurement inspection matters.
  • Document/record extensive tooling database and track tooling locations.
  • Utilize Oracle database management system to track product throughout operation (Oracle move).
  • Comply with and support AS9100 and Nadcap certification standards as well as customer specific standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Serve as an active participant in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to and enforce proper safety/security procedures and protocol.

When possible, reduce engineering workload by completing/reviewing procedures, travelers, dimensional data, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:  High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience:  One to three years in manufacturing.
  • Certifications/Licenses:  None
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Computer skills and ability to learn new things quickly, general knowledge of the casting process.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.  Good math skills.  The ability to understand technical blueprints/geometric tolerance nomenclature.  Basic analytical skills.  Good problem-solving skills.  Good interpersonal skills.  Detail oriented.  Thorough.  Accurate.  Team oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Working Environment:  Office (Primary) and Manufacturing Environment.
  • Physical Demands:  Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 20lbs, extended periods of time using a computer screen.
  • Required PPE:  Check for required PPE in areas you may be working.
  • Safety Glasses:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel Toed Shoes:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
