The Human Resource Assistant will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resource functions and duties. The role will consist of handling a variety of personnel related administrative tasks while providing clerical support to the HR Department and employees regarding human resources related activities, policies, processes, and procedures.

Essential Job Functions / Duties
  • Maintaining employee files and HR filing systems
  • Process employee requests
  • Will assist with new hire orientation and record keeping
  • Will participate in open enrollment process 
  • Will schedule site meetings
  • Company employee communication
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR Office
  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: 2 years of experience
  • Language:
    • Verbal: English and Spanish a must
    • Written: Spanish a plus
  • Software: Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Time and Attendance, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills - Experience with office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) - Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgement and discretion in handling and disseminating information. - Approachable and appropriate demeanor when interacting with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing environment. Adeptness in Attendance records - Experience with Benefit Packages - Job Posting experience - Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks. 

Working Conditions
  • Working Environment: Indoor working environment within various areas of a foundry facility/Office environment
  • Physical Demands: Sitting / Standing, using a computer screen, keyboard and mouse for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 20 lbs and walking.   
  • Travel Requirements: Will vary up to 10%
  • Required PPE: PPE varies throughout the plant, check with area Supervisors to ensure proper PPE is being used. 
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant
  • Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant
