Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Quality team.  This position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.  The position is a key member of the QA team, working closely with our Product Engineers during the new product development process and also providing feedback on quality issues & facilitating nonconforming material and corrective action activities directly with our large customers.  This role plays a major part in the root cause/corrective action processes along with quality planning and process development.  The Quality Engineer works in a cross functional team to facilitate the completion of corrective actions and ensure adherence to customer requirements and government regulations. Major Responsibilities:
  • Create quality plans for product qualification and production (PPAP & FMEA) as well as validate production processes
  • Ability to communicate daily to customers via email and phone conferences.
  • Attendance at daily stand up, RCCA, scrap and continuous improvement meetings 
  • Review and implement specifications as directed by customers and the government
  • Review and approve incoming and outgoing purchase orders
  • Act as a resource to other Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Team when complex quality issues or questions arise
  • Initiate, monitor, and control internal and external customer requests for root cause/corrective action
  • Facilitate and host customer audits
  • Authorize product/process changes via Engineering Change Requests, or Customer Engineering Change Requests
  • Drive quality planning & process development activities
  • Authorize and issue Returned Goods Authorization
 About You:
  • 2 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required in directly related field
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100 and/or NADCAP preferred
  • Experience with PPAP and/or FMEA strongly preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, & presentation communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including directly with our customers
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
