JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Attend daily production meetings to draft production commitments or timetables using sales forecasts and work in progress (WIP).
  • Work with VP/GM to plan production schedule based on available personnel, materials and equipment.
  • Review production schedules to determine materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences.
  • Distribute production schedules to VP/GM. Foundry Supervisors, and Customer Service.
  • Audit and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Generate Purchase Orders to maintain levels needed. Maintain stock inventory levels for both finished goods and raw materials.
  • Obtain from vendors the delivery of supplies and raw materials to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedules. Perform follow-up with vendors to stay abreast of product and materials availability and timely delivery.
  • Confer with VP/GM to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Enter production documentation into the system.
  • Communicate with Production and Customer Service on delays, interruptions, difficulties and re-prioritization.
  • Revise and distribute production schedules as necessary due to labor or material shortages, backlogs, etc. collaborating with sales and management.
  • Create and distribute exception reports: materials, deliveries, schedule adherence.
  • Confer with CPP personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure that BOM accuracy is maintained and updated as necessary.
  • Resolve invoicing issues related to Purchase Orders.
  • Run lead time reports, analyze data and share with manager.
  • Analyze and publish weekly and monthly on-time delivery statistics for legacy products.
  • Meet with Sales and Customer Service to discuss long-term forecasts (2+ months) and changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data.
  • Prior Experience utilizing spreadsheet and ERP-type software in managing the planning process.
  • 3-7 years’ experience in scheduling position with extensive demonstrated success of implementing & operationalizing master schedules.
  • Accredited 4-year college degree Manufacturing Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering or other related or other related fields and
  • Solid, proven organizational, project management and leadership skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and programs regarding quality, productivity and/or customer service.
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus.
  • Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus
