Overview
Direct and manage all plant materials flow activities. Schedule inbound materials to meet plant production demand. Foster and promote a team environment within, and between, departments and shifts to aid in accomplishing plant goals. Responsible and accountable for results, and for achieving a competitive advantage in terms of safety, costs, quality, delivery, shipments, and personnel. Plan the effective use of personnel and equipment. Coordinate activities of support departments in support of plant goals. Implement rapid continuous improvement within area of responsibility and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the operation.

Responsibilities:

•Plan, coordinate, and oversee production control, shipping, receiving and and inventory processes, managing through peer group;

•Develop & maintain a detailed capacity model;
•Effectively communicate model outcomes & recommend solutions;
•Evaluate planning parameters for new products and engineering trials to ensure efficient manufacturing execution and timely customer deliver;
• Establish inventory strategies by evaluating data and trends; establishing critical measurements, determining customer service needs, acquiring resources, resolving problems and implementing positive change;

• Review results on a continuous basis; develop action plan to improve the processes & financial performance;
•Assist in forecasting throughput and earned hours.  Align plans with P & L balance;

• Develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and personnel;
• Evaluate inventory controls and make changes where appropriate; Implement Kanban, Visual Management, and other Lean Materials Concepts.
• Direct maintenance of all planning master data, to support purchasing, planning and inventory strategy; Become an expert in MRP System and deliver improvements in MRP capability.
• Create and update weekly plant production schedule, aligned to inventory availability, to ensure customer expectations are being met/exceeded and to minimize work flow stoppages.  Control the release of shop orders into the Front End.
•Create & maintain line of balance reports for customers and internal recovery planning;
•Control manufacturing flow through outside processing operations, manage vendor relationships;
•Identify & implement Lead Time, Capacity, Cost Improvements, in Supply Chain;
• Ensure that organizational activities, and manufacturing operations, are in compliance with company policies, including local, state, and federal regulations and laws; and

• Oversee coordination of responses and reporting on all regulatory compliance requirements, as required by Corporate.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Business or a related discipline and 10+ years of relevant logistics experience; with a track record of increasing responsibility. (MBA a plus)
• Results-driven, highly motivated individual with strong hands-on technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to excel in a high operational tempo, team-oriented production environment;
•Ability to proactively identify situations requiring expedite.
•Capable of coordinating the team to recover timelines, while recommending & implementing solutions to the root cause.

• Demonstrated record of excellence in continuous improvement, and change management, resulting in improved performance, efficiency, cost management, profits, quality, safety, and employee morale
• Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal with pressure from a fast paced, dynamic, daily production schedule
• Ability to report, analyze and interpret financial and operating data/variances; skilled at developing and implementing countermeasures where applicable.
• Strategic thinker with strong planning/tactical skills, sense of urgency, focus on measurable results and ability to execute the plan, as well as the ability to successfully overcome exceptions.
• Ability to assess operational performance, develop, recommend and implement corrective action programs, make decisions and document process and results.
•Strong understanding, commitment, and proven track record in meeting safety & environmental requirements/regulations.
