Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Along with Department Lead, train new employees on basic skills and all employees on new procedures and processes.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Implement company policies. 
  • Develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance for inspecting part
  • Understand and communicate to employees the quality specifications required by customers.
  • Insure all parts leaving department meet specifications.
  • Act as liaison between Engineering/Quality and departmental staff to communicate product needs and process/productivity changes needed to improve on-time product flow.
  • Recommend changes on parts as needed.
  • Ensure accurate data is sent to Payroll.
  • Manage time-off requests.
  • Assign and/or perform preventative maintenance on equipment and report any needs to maintenance department.
  • Inventory and order necessary supplies for department.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area.
  • Monthly production goods and services as per the estimated manufacturing cost and minimum inputs of resources.
  • Produce right quality goods and services as per the established standards and specifications.
  • Produce goods and services as per the decided time schedule.
  • Minimize the use of resources to the optimum level. These are Machinery, Materials, Manpower and Money. These inputs are to be used to full extent to result minimum cost, quality and time.
  • Maximize the utilization of manpower.
  • Minimize the total cost of production with continuous elimination of non-value added activities and improving labor productivity on the production shop floor.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Four years of foundry or similar industrial experience. Supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: PC Skills including Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Knowledge of SPC
