Summary:
  • Maintain shell room within ideal operating targets, and make corrections/adjustments at point issue is found.
  • Elevate issues as necessary.
  • Foundry KPI trending data support.

Key Duties:  
  • Slurry Viscosity checks hourly (using stop watch, Zahn cups and/or ISO Cups), and log data in user form
  • Slurry Temperature checks hourly, and log data in user form
  • Make adjustments and additions as needed based on hourly slurry checks
  • Respond to test conditions via adjustments/additions
  • Respond to out of control shell room conditions (humidity/Temperature)
  • Audit sand cleanliness – either clean it or ensure it gets cleaned based on ranking system
  • Maintain equipment free from shell build up
  • Maintain rare earth metal magnets clean
  • Occasional lab testing/sample preparation as needed (density, binder% Solids, Bacteria, sand particle distribution)
  • Drip system control
  • Scan foundry pour logs daily for both air and vacuum furnaces
  • Retrieve digital pre-heat oven temperature graphs and attach to daily pour log
  • Record pour log parameters in foundry user form daily
  • Signal STOP production for ANY out of control/spec conditions until back under control
  • NO PART PRODUCTION

Basic Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Ability to learn how to measure viscosity
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments preferred
  • Prior experience in shell room/ceramic process not required
