JOB SUMMARY

Inspect, assess, accept or reject, per CPP specifications, PEI specifications, detailed requirements and drawings (blueprints) procured ceramic cores used in CPP Eastlake Operations.  This individual will be responsible for working with all core vendors producing ceramic cores for CPP Eastlake in: NPI set-ups, troubleshooting onsite at the vendor (both production and NPI), training internal core inspectors and maintaining all procured core SPC requirements.  Communicate all core related scrap issues and quality issues directly to the core vendor and assist with root cause analysis.  Position will work directly with engineering and quality departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Sample and inspect procured ceramic core dimensions with gauging and standard measurement inspection tools; calipers, etc.
  • Assess overall quality of cores received to ensure that the products meet CPP standards.
  • Verify that all processing paperwork has been completed correctly and tracked per CPP procedures.
  • Document and report on non-conforming material or paperwork found during inspections.
  • Communicate clearly with customer verbally and in writing all core related issues, weekly.
  •  Arrange for customer returns with Shipping.
  • Perform visual inspection and monitor SPC of cores per PEI as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with auditors verbally and in writing.
  • Comply with and support AS9100 and Nadcap certification standards as well as customer specific standards.
  • Actively participate in QVS and other Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to and enforce proper safety/security procedures and protocol.
  • Travel required to core vendors as needed to assist in troubleshooting of production issues as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering related to Manufacturing
  • Experience: Three years’ experience in the aerospace industry; specifically all items related to ceramic cores (fit, form function), quality requirements (AS9100), engineering and standard operating procedures in the production of investment castings.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to read customer drawings and specifications; basic inspection tools (i.e. calipers, gaging, etc.).  Know and understand ceramic cores and their purpose to determine root cause as needed. Basic computer skills.  Good understanding of math concepts, written communication skills. Excellent documentation skills.  Good interpersonal skills. Team oriented. Detail oriented. Safety conscious.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Working Environment: Mixed factory, inspection areas.
  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
  • Safety Glasses:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel toe shoes:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
