CPP-Syracuse is a manufacturer of premium investment castings for the Air Craft and Industrial Gas Turbine industry and has been in business for over 70 years. We have over 275 employees currently working in our Chittenango, NY facility.
We are currently looking for an experienced individual for our Material Lab. Current opening is for an experienced Lab Manager.
Lab Manager – In this position the successful candidate will perform timely and accurate Material Testing and reports to both Internal and External Customers. The Lab Manager also provides technical leadership in the areas of metallurgy and alloy testing and provides day to day supervision and oversight of Lab employees and develops employees in their areas of need. The successful candidate will also be able to Identify and implement improvement opportunities through the use of tools such as Systematic Problem Solving, Process Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
- Education: MS in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering is desirable but not required, other engineering disciplines will be considered based on experience/education.
- Experience: Familiarity with the investment casting industry and related processes is desirable. Experience with stainless steel, cobalt, and nickel alloy solidification principles and theory is desirable. Knowledge of heat treating and mechanical properties of investment castings is desirable. Previous experience in metallography, SEM, and other defect analysis methodology is desirable.
