Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on 1st shift, which is scheduled Monday through Friday at 7:30am to 3:30pm.  This role reports to the VP of Finance at our plant in Everett, Washington and is considered a critical member of the CPP-Everett team, working closely with the team to manufacture aerospace components as per drawing. Major Responsibilities
Cash Management: 
  • Accounts Receivable:  Daily posting of cash receipts, monitoring of established Customer portals to confirm inbounds, preparing and issuing credit memos within established procedures, reconciling invoices to cash receipts.  Managing the aged receivables in support of company cash requirements.  Analyzing customer accounts to determine invoicing errors, pricing discrepancies, and suggesting write-offs as needed.  Maintaining customer master files including credit hold/ release management. 
  • Accounts Payable:   Collaborating with Purchasing department in selecting vendors and invoices for check runs that will support manufacturing requirements.  Ensuring that documents supporting the payments are approved prior to payment distribution.  Maintaining the Supplier master file.  Providing training and support to Accounts Payable clerk.
  • Banking Backup:  Performing daily banking requirements which include downloading ACH deposit and cleared check details, uploading positive pay files, initiating ACH payments and wire transfers, and reconciling the bank account to the daily cash file.   Preparing the monthly reconciliation of the general ledger account to the month end bank statement.
Regulatory and Licensing:
  • Taxes:  Preparing timely and accurate tax reports including Washington State B&O and Excise Tax, City of Everett B&O Tax, and Snohomish County Property Tax.
  • Audits:  Participating in the preparation of timely and accurate documentation, reports, listings, etc. in support of audit completion.
Closing Routines
  • Compiling and auditing data as well as preparing timely and accurate entries, listings, etc. to support timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting packages.  Monthly/Weekly Closing Checklist will identify specific journal entry and reconciliation responsibilities.
With minimal supervision, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing various accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, tax preparation, and financial closing procedures.  In addition, the Staff Accountant will participate in the preparation of financial reports, audit procedures and completing all licensing applications and filings.

About You
  • 5+ years accounting experience – or – Associate's  degree (A.A.) and 3 years of accounting experience – or – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Epicor Vista experience a plus
 Computer Skills:
  • Microsoft Windows suite, Very strong MS Excel skills
  • Experience with Access or equivalent

  • Must be very organized and able to prioritize multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, able to maintain focus despite numerous interruptions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Mathematical Skills: Employee must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as accounting and financial calculations and projections.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
