Maintenance Mechanic
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) Syracuse has a need for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.  This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and performs high skilled maintenance tasks on state-of-the-art equipment.  CPP-Syracuse is a manufacturer of premium investment castings for the Air Craft and Industrial Gas Turbine industry and has been in business for over 70 years. 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
  • Monitor machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair machine level control systems, which utilize programmable logic controllers.
  • Repair machines as needed.
  • Interact with Operators to troubleshoot, repair and test equipment.
  • Communicate with Team Leader and/or Maintenance Manager on major repair needs discovered.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Call outside contractors as appropriate.
  • Review new equipment standard issues.
  • Follow lock-out, tag out procedures.
  • Build and rebuild foundry equipment.
  • High school diploma
  • At least five years’ hands-on maintenance experience in electronic systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Mig and stick welding experience
  • Skilled in use of standard mechanical hand tools
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read electrical prints and troubleshoot equipment from 24 volt to 480 volt.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • Good judgment.
  • Detail oriented
