Job Summary:
The NDT Level III ensures that Non-Destructive Testing processes and procedures adhere to customer requirements in a manner that guarantees compliance and efficiency.  This role is also responsible for evaluating and interpreting the quality of castings to meet Company and customer specifications and provides guidance to NDT personnel.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Qualification, training, testing and periodic over-reading of Level I and II inspectors in Penetrant and Radiography.
  • Read, interpret and apply customer and industry standards related to NDT methodology and other general specifications.
  • NDT Procedure, technique and revision development, internal auditing, problem solving.
  • Establish initial and recurrent training programs for Penetrant and Radiography inspectors.
  • Maintain certification documents.
  • Act as the customer, certifier, auditor and site interface for NDT or other product quality topics.
  • Administers and maintains NDT/X-Ray qualification program for Level I, II and III NDT personnel.
  • Work with the QA Manager to ensure that NDT inspections are scheduled and assigned appropriately.
  • Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed.
  • Capable of assuming technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff, Selecting the method and technique for a specific inspection, Preparing and verifying the adequacy of procedures and work instructions, approving NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy.
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: One year at Level II with a 4 year college degree; 2 years at Level II with a two year college degree; 4 years at Level II with no college degree.

  • Certifications/Licenses: Must hold at least 1 of the following certifications with the ability to obtain the other within 12 months.  – ASNT trained certified Level III in Penetrant Per NAS 410  aerospace standards
  • ASNT trained  certified Level III in Radiography Per NAS 410  aerospace standards
    Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Quality Systems Auditor training or certification
