CPP-Syracuse is a manufacturer of premium investment castings for the Air Craft and Industrial Gas Turbine industry and has been in business for over 70 years. We have over 275 employees currently working in our Chittenango, NY facility.  We are currently looking for an FPI Level 2/Reader to ensure that our castings meet our customer quality standards. This position on 1st shift Monday - Friday.

  • Perform required duties relating to the interpretation of penetrant indications.
  • Experience: 32 hours of documented formal training in Penetrant Inspection.  270 hours of on-the–job training.
  • Certifications/Licenses:  Penetrant Level 2 Certification
  • Responsible for interpretation of product through penetrant operation.
  • Set up and verify equipment such as FPI processing line, PSM-5 panels, blacklights, etc.
  • Conduct tests, interpret, evaluate and document data in accordance with codes, standards and other contractual documents.

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred; 16 hours of documented formal training in Penetrant Inspection.  130 hours of on-the–job training
  • Certifications/Licenses: none
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Read. Write legibly. Basic math skills. Good written communication skills. Good verbal communication skills. Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, workstation documents and Internal Method Sheets (IMS).
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers and leadership.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to report progress and work with engineers to solve issues.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardized exists.
