Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) in Industry is currently looking for a Metrology Technician to join our team! The Metrology Technician will be reporting to our Technical Director on 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) at our Aerospace Manufacturer facilty in the City of Industry, CA.

The Metrology Programmer will be responsible for creating structured light inspection programs for complex components using Polyworks, Geomagic, or similar software packages.  This position is responsible with providing technical support to Engineers by converting their inspection plans into inspection programs and reports for castings and fixtures.

Major Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and generate production-ready metrology programs to verify product of various complex and critical components to engineering specifications.
  • Creates clear and precise inspection reports for various types of metrology equipment.
  • Defines inspection set-up requirements.
  • Designs fixtures for holding parts during inspection.
  • Performs Measurement Systems Analysis studies (MSA / Gauge R&R)
  • Assist Engineers in reviewing inspection data (SPC, best fit).
  • Ability to understand and follow internal specifications and procedures.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives by continuously improving programs, programming techniques and reports.
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety polices, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime
Key Dimensions:
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretation (including datum structures)
  • Demonstrated Polyworks or Geomagic programming experience
  • Experience using Creaform Handyscan and/or GOM scanners
  • Proficiency in Solidworks (or other CAD packages)
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizing
Education & Experience:
  • Education: AS degree in Math, Engineering, Chemistry or similar science. Relevant industry experience can be substituted. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years Polyworks/Geomagic programming required.  2-4 years of CAD modeling experience required (Solidworks preferred).
  • Certifications/Licenses: None
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.  Ability to read and understand specifications and procedures
