JOB DESCRIPTION: OPERATIONS MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
Manages overall production operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of production team labor, company productivity & effectiveness, quality control, OTD and safety measures. Ensures safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement operation plans that effectively utilize material and labor to achieve targets
  • Supervise the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure on time delivery within budget
  • Oversee hiring, orienting, and training of production team to ensure workforce compliance / competence
  • Oversee the regulation of work shift to ensure proper workload distribution
  • Ensure that all health and safety standards and that the facilities maintain compliance
  • Oversee the maintenance of production equipment, fixtures and tools to ensure efficient operations
  • Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems
  • Liaise with the quality department to ensure product quality and specification are consistent, including oversight and participate in corrective action studies
  • Conduct assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency & implement change to increase both productive and effectiveness measures
  • Monitor and control a production process to adjust operations in event of a problem
  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years’ in people management, both hourly and salary employees
  • 3+ years’ experience in AS9100 facilities
  • Basic knowledge of operational accounting, including, but not limited to, fixed vs. variable cost, absorption, standard costing, basic knowledge of financial statements
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of statistics
  • Excellence verbal and written communication skills across engineering, operations and commercial disciplines
  • Written and spoken fluency in English
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years' experience managing operating budgets and metrics including, but not limited to: Variable Cost, Productivity, Effectiveness, Overtime
  • Advanced, expert level knowledge of operational accounting, including, but not limited to, fixed vs. variable cost, absorption, standard costing, basic knowledge of financial statements
  • 3+ years’ experience in Ops management with a heavy focus on new product development or introduction.
  • 3+ years' experience with demonstrated department P&L responsibility
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
