Responsible for strategic direction, management, and top-line revenues for the Catering & Conference Services Department. Responsible for working directly with the respective Operations Teams in creating clear and credible visions for the department. Understands customer mix and aligns human resources, structures, and systems to achieve strategic goals and maximize revenues. Ensure delivery of exceptional events in line with Cavallo Point Standards.
Responsible for achieving the Annual Catering Budget as assigned.
Disseminates all group and catering markets/bookings based upon experience and depth of contract base to benefit the Catering Department and Ownership.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth planning and execution of events.
Responsible for implementation and adherence to all departmental policies and manuals, as related to the Catering Department for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance for consistency and excellence.
Develop partnerships with key accounts, vendors, and local influences.
Creates and presents promotional/enhancement and up-sell strategies to impact need/seasonal periods. Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to the team.
- A minimum of five years as a Director of Catering/Conference Services in a Luxury environment
- Degree in Hospitality Event Management preferred
- Strong knowledge of food/wine and labor costing
- Strong knowledge of sales/negotiation/closing process
