Secluded on nearly 10 acres on Waller Creek, the Commodore Perry Estate comprises a 10,800-square-foot home, a chapel and gardens enclosed within a walled compound in the style of an Italian country villa and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Now refreshed and refurbished as a luxury 54 room resort, the property will open in mid-2020.

Role Summary
Become one of the authors of our story.  Join our team as a Pool Service Captain at the Commodore Perry Estate in Austin, Texas.  The Pool Service Captain is responsible for all aspects of the  pool area, as well as assisting in the service of food and beverage. The Pool Service Captain will be responsible for keeping all essential items stocked and working with other departments to procure needed items. 

  Core Responsibilities

Responsible for supervising all aspects of the Pool Service and food and beverage functions, in accordance with hotel standards.  Reports to the Food & Beverage Assistant Manager and organizes the day to day activities of the Pool Food and Beverage Department maintaining high standards, service, maximizing both guest and financial results.

  • Maintain the highest levels of guest service and develop a rapport with both the hotel guests and members, meeting and greeting guests at the pool, and handling guest complaints effectively and pleasantly. 

  • Conduct regular walkthrough for maintenance in the workspace to continuously maintain or improve the physical properties 

  • Training and developing a team composed of pool bartenders, pool servers, and pool attendants

  • Ensure service standards are being met and exceeded. Offer support to staff when needed, offer corrections and coaching when applicable.  

  • Ensure service is seamless and consistent, regardless of time of day. 

  • Help supervise and support all operations for the pool bar, the pool and all the amenities and services provided at the pool. 

  • Look for opportunities to improve service on all parts of the property. Communicate clearly with other members of the management staff to stay connected in this regard. 

  • Work on projects assigned and see them through to completion. 

Required Qualifications

  • Two or more years’ operating experience in a similar capacity in a luxury property, group or luxury hotel Food & Beverage department. 

  • Experience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations 

  • Experience in completing administrative tasks, to include, reporting, budgeting, project management, etc.
