Position: Social Media Intern
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Department: Mission Advancement
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Time Requirements: Beginning in May and ending in August, this internship has flexible hours and requires a minimum of 10 hours/week and a maximum of 15 hours/week.

Catholic Charities Fort Wayne-South Bend is seeking a Social Media Intern to join our Mission Advancement team. The Social Media Intern will fuel our mission to “Serve those in need as Christ calls us to do” through engagement with the public via social media platforms and content creation.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with creating social media posts for Instagram and Facebook
- Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
- Create content for social media posts
- Schedule video shoots with staff and/or clients
- Assist in creating and editing short-form videos
- Participate in team meetings to develop new strategies for engagement
- Ensure brand message is consistent
- Gathers client stories from staff
- Provides administrative support to the Mission Advancement Department
- Assist with and participate in community outreach and education events
- Other duties as assigned

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Commitment to serving low-income and under-served communities
- Ability to relate to and communicate with a broad range of clients and colleagues
- Demonstrate an understanding of and accommodation for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of special needs of the clients
- Respect Catholic Social Teaching
- Demonstrate multicultural sensitivity
- Effective planning, organizational communication, and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365
