Overview:
Dr. Day Care Learning Center provides care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old in our Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School Age programs.  We offer quality care and education 52 weeks of the year - we are the Home of the Educational Guarantee!

Responsibilities:
The Food Service Worker/Driver will be required to perform the following duties including, but not limited to,:
  • Order, inventory food stock and supplies for meals
  • Prepare meals and snacks on a daily basis
  • Comply with safe food handling guidelines
  • Drive company 12-passenger van/mini-bus to and from schools and/or field trips
  • Monitor the behavior of all children including proper sitting, entering and exiting of the van
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring that all children board and exit the van safely
  • Uses proper protocol as necessary when an emergency situation arises notifying the proper authorities including the Administrators and/or Home Office
  • Operate van/mini-bus safely at all times in accordance with posted speed limits, parking restrictions, passing zones and all other traffic and driving laws
  • Assume responsibility for ratio and head counts, school locations and children
  • Check the condition of vehicle tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
  • Help to supervise and interact with children to facilitate their play and learning
  • Support the implementation of the Therapeutic Child Care Services (TCCS) program
  • Assist with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives
  • Assist in the creation of a safe, healthy, structured and nurturing environment
  • Communicate positively with parents
  • Attend meetings and trainings
  • Assist with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Safe Serve Certification (state licensed)
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, college credits, Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Must participate in early childhood staff development program
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Experience Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in a child care/early learning center preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive team player
  • Ability to attend meetings/trainings after normal business hours

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to be engaged in physical exercise with children such as walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting, etc. 
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Other Qualifications:
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • Must possess a valid chauffer’s license and meet insurance required parameter for safe driving
  • Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check
  • Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS)
  • Apart from religious observations, available to work 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, according to the needs of the business
