Resource Specialist
Holy Family School in South Bend is in search of a qualified Resource Specialist Teacher. The ideal candidate will be faith-filled and dedicated to providing quality instruction for students of all abilities integrating the mission of Holy Family School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne / South Bend in all planning, teaching, and classroom activities to benefit students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Job Responsibilities Include:

Resource Teacher will consult / collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and agencies ensuring that students with existing ILP, IEP, and CAP plans are receiving appropriate instruction and services.

Provide direct instruction, tutoring, and instructional support to students with a variety of learning disabilities.

Monitors instruction and performance of students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress toward student’s goals and objectives.

Participate in IEP meetings and other required meetings.

Maintaining school records as required by the diocese and state.

Communicating regularly and effectively with parents regarding all aspects of school life for this group of students.

Coordinate with local public school corporation Special Education personnel to develop individualized education plans for students identified as having disabilities and monitor their progress throughout the school year.

Evaluates students for purposes of identifying student needs.

Recommend screening and evaluation for a variety of learning/behavior disabilities and needs.

Develop and implement modifications and intervention strategies.

Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and techniques used and adjust instruction and delivery as needed.

Regularly communicate with teachers and staff regarding student needs, interventions, and progress toward goals.

Commits to ongoing faith formation and professional growth.

Fosters the spiritual development of students by modeling Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
-
Special Education Resource Specialist Certification
-
-
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations (state and federal).
-
Knowledge of due process rights and procedures.
-
Ability to use effective and appropriate communication techniques with students, parents, staff, agencies, and community members.

Applicants must be able to provide instructional assistance/tutoring in the areas of English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

Basic knowledge of Google Suite software (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs,
-
Stand for 30 minutes at a time,
-
Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
