Our Lady of Hungary School seeks a loving, energetic teacher to lead PK classroom for the 2025-26 school year. Established in 1927, Our Lady of Hungary School has consistently maintained high academic standards, grounded in the teachings of the Catholic faith. The school was founded by the Daughters of Divine Charity, a religious order of Sisters, who were invited to staff Our Lady of Hungary School upon its founding. They arrived nearly 100 years ago amid the ringing of the church bells and much jubilation by the parishioners and soon to be students. Today there are ten lay teachers and a lay principal staffing the school continuing the same mission to provide an authentic Catholic education in a caring environment.
The Pre-K teacher will be responsible for integrating the mission of Our Lady of Hungary School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in all planning, teaching, grading, and in all school duties for the betterment of our students.
Job Responsibilities:

Understands, believes in, and communicates joyfully about the Our Lady of Hungary School mission in all endeavors.

Provides grade-appropriate instructional program for students in Pre-K 4 year old class.

Leads Pre-K program with diligence in best standards for Pre-K curriculum and assessment.

Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.

Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Diocesan Curriculum.

Provides grade appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.

Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.

Maintains appropriate control through positive discipline techniques to enhance the learning environment.

Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.

Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration as outlined by the Our Lady of Hungary School Parent Handbook and Faculty/Staff Handbook.

Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention and any other duties assigned by the administration.

Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.

Attends school events including Back to School Nights, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration.
Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in education preferred not required

Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching

Positive references and recommendations

Clear ability to promote and witness to our Roman Catholic Faith

Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives.

Must be comfortable with technology such as laptops, website maintenance, interactive white – boards, etc.
