Job description:
 Client Corporation is looking for an Electrical Engineer with a broad base of experience in electrical and electronic design knowledge to support the development of wearable systems and mobile communication applications, supporting key accounts across the USG, as well as developing and designing new technology applications in line with CLIENT Systems Engineering Department.  A background in a technology research setting is highly desired.  The ideal candidate is a self-driven innovative individual that thrives in small teams and performance-based work environments.  Knowledge of communications hardware and protocols and power supply cabling and interconnects is required. Location is the Metro West Boston area (I-495/Rte-2).  
Essential Job Functions:
Work within a small team of interdisciplinary engineers and technicians to design and implement analog and digital network solutions for wearable electronics technology and mobile communication applications supporting key accounts. Developing and evaluating new technology applications in line with CLIENT development initiatives.  Some of the specific anticipated responsibilities include: Develop approaches for addressing complex electrical requirements from a need statement. Participate in conceptual and architectural definition of new designs; capable of executing state-of-the-art designs. Identify and communicate existing and potential design issues both internally and externally. Build component reference designs and libraries specific to customer needs. Design printed circuits (rigid and flexible) for wearable applications. Publish and distribute final design packages for PCB fabrication and assembly. Implement power transfer principles in a laboratory setting. Hands-on circuit design, fabrication, and testing. Generate reports corresponding to circuit analysis and testing. Quote, schedule and partition a major design project with appropriate staffing. Perform DFM (design for manufacturing) and coordinate with upstream and downstream supply chain.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.BS degree in electrical engineering with three years of work/internship experience. Experience designing systems using common communications interfaces and protocols, including Ethernet, USB, CAN, I2C, and HDMI. Understanding of PCB design principles and practices, along with the technical skills and experience required to implement this knowledge in a development setting. Proficiency in analog, digital, and communications circuit design. Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout, and parts library management. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills:
Experience working with one or more of the following: Additional relevant experience in embedded development, sensor development, wearable technology, and contract R&D. Sensor networks. RF integration/circuits/analysis. Power electronics. Electro-active materials. Textiles. Model/Simulation Software: MATLAB/Simulink. Programming Languages: Python, C, C++. Application Developments on Windows and Linux operating systems.
