Role Description
Responsible for the execution of facilities category management strategies and activities, as well as strategic sourcing processes and approaches for assigned categories/sub-categories under the guidance of a Category Manager.  Independently leads low-to medium-complexity spend categories and supports higher-complexity categories with limited supervision.  Plans, deploys, and disseminates category strategies, as well as plans and conducts sourcing projects by leveraging stakeholder relationships and resources.  Facilitates effective strategic supplier relationship, risk, and compliance management programs with regards to category management.  
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Develop and execute category management strategies and activities, as well as strategic sourcing processes and approaches for assigned categories/sub-categories
  • Ensure effective and uniform implementation of category management strategies and sourcing approaches
  • Re-evaluate and adjust category strategies  based on changing market conditions
  • Manage the daily tactical details and issues that arise within categories
  • Effectively leverage stakeholder relationships to ensure category strategies  are implemented and adapted to local needs
  • Execute specific strategic sourcing initiatives with process steps that include CDA’s, baseline data, market intelligence, RFx execution, data analysis, supplier selection, fact-based negotiation, implementation and monitoring of performance
  • Direct appropriate analysis  methods and develop formats to document  estimated savings and benefits
  • Establish negotiation strategies with fact-based analysis and effectively negotiate with suppliers to achieve desired results.  Negotiations include contract terms and conditions, commercial terms, scope of work, and service level agreements
  • Gather, understand, and review spend or consumption data to recommend and enact changes that ensure alignment with category strategy and functional business needs
  • Track and monitor supplier markets and key material indexes for assigned categories  using Porter’s Five Forces model or other analysis  methods
  • Define supplier performance measurements, as well as monitor and evaluate suppliers to identify root cause of performance failure to drive continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the broader team of Procurement Specialists, Analysts, Service Representatives and Purchasing Agents
  • Ensure that individual and team goals and objectives are met.
  • Define and manage formal subcategory “business plans,” including appropriate supplier management strategies
  • Lead and support maximization of efficiency, effectiveness and compliance in category management & strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Achieve year-on-year improvement in total cost of ownership, working capital, quality, service and value within assigned categories
  • Develop best sources of supply and deliver value to the business
  • Ensure regular communication with stakeholders
  • Execute the use of category management support tools through efficient and effective data mining, information creation and communications

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field (business, operations management)
  • 5-7+ years of strategic procurement experience with 3+ years directly related experience (Direct or Indirect)
  • 3-5 years experience in facilities procurement strongly preferred (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Uniforms and Janitorial)
