Role Description:

To supervise the information technology and business application needs of HHWS, the Business Applications Manager, HHWS is responsible for a wide range of duties:
  • Lead the local IT business system teams at the HHWS business units (AERCO and PVI), act as a matrix manager for the local IT site administrators
  • Build and maintain a close working relationship with the HHWS business stakeholders to ensure Its alignment to business priorities
  • Develop an IT strategy for HHWS aligned with the business strategy and global IT strategy
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and support of HHWS ERPs and other local business systems
  • Manage local IT budgets and vendor relationships
  • Assess business process requirements
  • Analyze the structure and flow of the business’ work to identify possible applications solutions
  • Be aware of the latest software developments and think of ways that software can be applied to make the business more efficient and successful
  • Manage system applications software implementation and upgrades
  • Lead a team of IT specialists responsible for implementing and upgrading system applications software
  • Ensure that the business applications and processes are all ready before implementing new systems, and then carefully monitor the rolling-out process to catch any issues
  • Troubleshoot problems with the software
  • Provide technical support and problem resolution related to business applications software systems
  • Review issues and provide solutions when software problems arise
  • Create processes and protocols for software
  • Create, develop, and oversee protocols and procedures for usage of newly introduced software
  • Train users in protocols and procedures
  • Manage project development from initiation to closure
  • Work with project team(s) to outline scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, and timing
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Diagnose and solve technical problems; manage problem escalation and solution tracking
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT management, or related technical field
MANAGEMENT:
  • Manage a team of ERP & business applications specialists
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience (technical and IT management)
  • High competency in ERP processes, good understanding of the value of business process optimization
  • Proven experience project management Project/Program management, Familiarity with Project Management Principles
  • Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices
  • Experience with database management
  • Experience with Information system troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated skill in developing automated business systems
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and business concepts to a technical audience
  • Project Management Institute PMP®
  • ITIL Foundation V3 or higher
  • Prompt Informed Decision Making

  • Able to negotiate in an affirmatory manner and handle problem resolution activities proactively

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?
  • A technical, hands-off manager to oversee all things related to IT for HHWS sites (AERCO & PVI) including & mainly the ERP applications (JD Edwards & Epicor though we don’t need someone with those specific ERP tools) •
  • Someone with prior people management experience to oversee 4 direct reports. This person should not be too senior as we've found these candidates to be overqualified & harder to keep engaged long term in the role. •
  • A department manager as opposed to a project or program manager who is capable of overseeing the daily on goings of all IT business as it relates to HHWS. •
  • Be the IT partner for HHWS leadership & be able to build & maintain relationships with stakeholders within HHWS. •
  • Must be willing to work on-site in either Blauvelt, NY or Fort Worth, TX following COVID.
