Splunk Engineer (Dallas, TX)

The Splunk engineer will support the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation following defined best practices and operational workflows for our clientele. The Splunk engineer will work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and will be required to interact with clients to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and provide assistance with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards.

Requirements:
The Splunk engineer will support the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation following defined best practices and operational workflows for our clientele. The Splunk engineer will work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and will be required to interact with clients to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and provide assistance with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards.
The Splunk engineer will be required interact with senior management, as necessary
- Design Splunk Deployments
- Perform Splunk administration tasks such as installing, configuring, monitoring and tuning.
- Create Dashboards, Visualizations, Statistical reports, scheduled searches, alerts and knowledge objects.
- Integrate event feeds from customer specified event sources into Splunk
- Provide recommendations and implement changes to optimize Splunk products in customer environments
- Write and develop custom scripts, programs as needed
- Support Splunk on UNIX, Linux and Windows-based platforms.
- Assist with automation of processes and procedures
- Will travel to client sites
Requirements:
- 5 + yrs of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, architecture, administration, or security
- Security+
- Bachelors Degree
- Splunk Administration 2 years
- Splunk Architecture 2 years
- RMF: 1 year (Preferred)
- Automation: 1 year (Preferred)
- Splunk: 3 years (Required)
- CISSP and/or CISM (Preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ (Required)
- AWS (Preferred)
- Splunk, Splunk E, and Splunk Certification would be ideal
- CISSP and/or CISM
- CEH
- AWS certification
