: Production Supervisor

Role Description:
  • You will lead and coordinates employee element of assigned work group to maximize efficiency.  This includes activities such as hiring & termination of staff, corrective actions, annual review process, training, coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, and other disciplining of staff.
  • Become an expert in department(s) overseeing-- Fermentation, Cultures harvesting & packaging, Dry blend & packaging, Liquid Receiving & filtration & evaporation, Wet Blend operations, Spray drying, and any other process streams by understanding & coordinating the equipment operation, procedures, SQF, HACCP, GMP, Safety, sanitation, preventative maintenance programs and personnel capabilities. 
  • Utilizes Lotus Notes, SAP, Mapics and other software to perform transaction functions for materials flow. Trains new and existing team members on the operation of all PCs, software, relevant PLC interfaces and instrumentation, the importance of following JAMs and working instructions and provides documentation of training.
  • Empowers employees to effectively perform their tasks independently at the expected level by ensuring that the necessary knowledge, training, and tools have been provided.
  • Assures that JAMs, working instructions and process descriptions are up to date, accurate and accessible to all team members through the Intelex manual. Assures all procedures and instructions are adhered to in the production process.
  • Validates critical control point (CCP) instrumentation in the fermentation and cultures production process to ensure adherence to established quality assurance, GMP and regulatory procedures.
  • Reports all equipment and instrumentation malfunctions immediately for repair and assists in trouble shooting and diagnosing problems to ensure timely repair.  Initiates maintenance work orders.
  • Interacts with the Process Development project team to optimize the yields and processing parameters.  Participates in process troubleshooting and HACCP teams for continuous improvement of existing and new process equipment.
What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?
  • Degree is highly preferred in engineering, food technology or business, or 5 years production supervision with demonstrated effective leadership and performance.
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience of management/leadership in a dairy plant or related industry.
  • SAP and Continuous improvement mindset would be a plus Must have flexibility to set your schedule for 24/7 operation.
  • Occasional weekend work may be necessary. Familiarity with fermentation, spray drying and powders processing highly desirable. Ability to understand functioning process equipment. Good communication, leadership and planning and organizational skills are required. 12 Hour Shifts 5a-5p

Title
: Sr. Process Engineer
Terms of Hire: Full Time.

 Role Description:
  • Leads capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives around sterilization, hydrolysis, fermentation, aseptic processing, centrifugation, filtration, lyophilization, spray drying, milling, and packaging.   Provides process technology support to TPM’s, as necessary.  Analyzes and evaluates project designs and ensures compliance with engineering principles, hygienic design standards, and HSE requirements.  Oversees all phases of assigned projects from inception to final operation. Responsibilities include project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, managing installation, supporting commissioning, operator training, and financial control.  May require temporary relocation to complete projects at other Client locations with the potential for permanent relocation. Travel Requirement could be up to 50%.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Leads capital projects to extend capacity and/or improve processing at Client’s AH&N facilities including upstream and downstream processing. 
  • Provides process technology support to TPM’s as necessary   
  • Using continuous improvement tools, leads projects that improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), equipment cleanliness, product yields, and 1st pass quality.
  • Assures compliance with Client’s sanitary design standards.  Assists sanitary design teams to complete hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) studies and assure current good manufacturing practices (cGMP’s) compliance.
  • Conducts start-up field testing and troubleshoots new, modified, and current systems and equipment related to a project.  Creates installation and operational qualification documents (IQ/OQ) and implements IQ’s/OQ’s upon management approval. Assists with the completion of cleaning qualification (CQ). Trains personnel responsible for operation of equipment.

  • Minimum BS in Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of process optimization in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must have experience in process control systems. Well versed in the development of project schedules, cost estimates, PFD’s, P&ID’s, site and elevation drawings, and utilities requirements. • Strong problem solving and organizational skills. • Good interpersonal skills. • Able to manage multiple priorities.
