Essential Job Functions: 
Collaborate with software developers, system operators, administrators and other IT staff members to support software development projects and the IPT’s IT infrastructureSupport infrastructure projects and processesDevelop advanced SQL scripts for data extraction from SQL Server databasesCreate data structuring/mapping, the process of defining data types and the connections between themMaintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work productsCreate and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning and requirement gatheringMonitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may ariseMaintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users)Use tools like SQL Profiler for database tuning. Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve themDevelop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replicationCreate and manage constraints and indexesSupport software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored proceduresManage production, QA and development database environmentsCreate detailed documentation including diagrams of database infrastructureLearn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality and dependenciesCoordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and clients) effectivelySet up and maintain database infrastructure for the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) needs

Required Skills:Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is requiredHigh school diploma/GED plus 16 years of experience, or Associate's-level (AA/AS/Technical school) plus 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor degree in an IT field with 8 years of experience, or equivalent and relevant certificationsObtain and maintain a Security Clearance for the duration of employmentA minimum of 7 years of experience with Database Administration, specifically working with Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL Server)Experience with Microsoft infrastructures, MS SQL Server (2014/2017), agile software development (Scrum/SAFe)Ability to build and maintain the MS SQL Server database infrastructureExperience with database installation and configuration, backup management and disaster recoveryAble to assist developers to configure database instances, code deployment, and user access managementPractical experience in managing internal and external Microsoft SQL Server database securityExperience with Always-On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring, High Availability, Business Continuity, and Clustering, database optimizationKnowledge of SQL Service BrokerUp-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidentlyGood interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of managementAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Desired Skills:Knowledge of and experience with Federal security regulations, standards, DoD STIGS and processes including FISMA, FIPS, NIST, and FedRAMPMicrosoft Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA): Database Fundamentals SQL Certification, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): SQL 2016 Database Development Certification, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): SQL 2016 Database Administration CertificationT-SQL, PS, SSIS, SSRS highly preferred
