Purchasing Coordinator

Precision, Problem-Solving & a Great Team — Join Ellison Technologies!

Location: Near the Charlotte Airport (Hybrid — 3 Days Remote / 2 Days In Office)

Are You Someone Who Takes Pride in Getting the Details Right?

Do you enjoy working with complex information, solving problems, and making sure everything comes together exactly as it should? Are you highly organized, comfortable working with technology, and someone others can count on to follow through?

If so, we'd love to talk with you!

At Ellison Technologies, we're looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our growing team. This isn't your typical purchasing position, nor is it simply a data entry job. It's an opportunity for someone who enjoys managing detailed transactions, navigating multiple systems, and playing an important role in keeping our business running smoothly.

You'll be joining a close-knit, collaborative team that supports our sales, service, and accounting operations across the country.

Why Ellison Technologies?

For more than 70 years, Ellison Technologies has helped manufacturers compete and win by providing advanced manufacturing technologies and solutions.

We're proud of our reputation for outstanding customer service, strong relationships, and a culture where people genuinely enjoy working together.

Here's what makes this opportunity particularly attractive:

  • Hybrid Flexibility: Once fully trained, enjoy working from home three days per week, with two days in our office near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

  • A Great Team: Work alongside a supportive, tight-knit network of professionals across the country.

  • A Growing Organization: This is a newly added position resulting from our continued growth.

  • Interesting, Detail-Oriented Work: Every order is different, requiring accuracy, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

  • Meaningful Contributions: Your work directly supports our ability to deliver equipment, parts, and services to customers nationwide.

  • A Culture That Values People: Join an organization that emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and long-term relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Purchasing Coordinator, you'll be responsible for ensuring that complex purchase orders are accurately processed, tracked, and communicated across our organization and supplier network.

Your responsibilities will include:

Purchase Order Processing & Accuracy

  • Enter and process detailed purchase orders through our internal systems and supplier platforms.

  • Carefully verify pricing, quantities, part numbers, delivery requirements, and other critical order information.

  • Navigate multiple software platforms, including Salesforce, to ensure orders are processed correctly.

  • Manage order modifications, cancellations, returns, and related transactions.

Order Tracking & Supplier Communication

  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery dates, and product availability.

  • Monitor outstanding orders and proactively follow up to keep everything moving.

  • Identify potential delays and coordinate solutions with the appropriate teams.

  • Assist with supplier returns, credits, and warranty claims.

Teamwork & Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Administration, Service, and Accounting teams throughout the country.

  • Provide accurate, timely updates regarding order status and expected deliveries.

  • Maintain detailed records and help ensure information remains consistent across systems.

  • Support special projects and other purchasing-related activities.

What Will Make You Successful?

We're looking for someone who combines exceptional attention to detail with the ability to think critically and work independently.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in order processing, purchasing coordination, sales administration, or a similar administrative role.

  • Strong computer skills and comfort working within detailed software applications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Exceptional accuracy when working with numbers, part numbers, pricing, and detailed transactions.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to following up.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with Salesforce, an ERP system, or other order management software.

  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial equipment, distribution, or technical products business.

  • Familiarity with purchase orders, order acknowledgments, and supplier coordination.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys getting the details right, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and thrives as part of a collaborative team.

A Few Additional Details

This position follows a hybrid schedule after training, with two days per week in our Charlotte-area office and three days working remotely. Remote work requires a dedicated workspace, reliable high-speed internet, and availability during established business hours.

Because our purchasing operations support locations nationwide, additional hours are sometimes necessary during peak periods. Significant overtime is typically required on the final business day of the month.
