Who We Are
IFD provides in-home counseling and skill building for children and families at risk of foster care placement, or in foster or relative care placement. We offer a supportive team environment, excellent supervision, and comprehensive training. Therapists use a variety of skills such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive and Behavioral Strategies and Crisis Intervention to increase family safety. This position requires flexible work hours, including some evenings and weekends, and the ability to provide 24/7 crisis response.

Who We Are Looking to Hire
The Institute for Family Development’ s  internationally recognized HOMEBUILDERS® program  currently has an opening for a full-time family therapist in Clark County.  Therapists provide intensive in-home counseling services to families whose children are at risk of out-of-home placement into state funded care or who are in placement and cannot be reunified without intensive in-home services.  A caseload of 2-3 families at a time allows the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families at risk. Services include: crisis intervention, counseling, skill building, concrete services and advocacy, using a Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy approach, as well as Motivational Interviewing.
Applicants must live in Clark County, Washington, or be willing to move before starting job. This therapist position serves families who live in Clark County, with occasional services provided in Cowlitz and Skamania Counties. Mileage compensation is provided for client travel. The therapist is required to attend Team Consultations in Vancouver, WA once per week.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Masters of Social Work (MSW)/MA/MS; or Bachelors of Social Work (BSW)/BA/BS and 2 years of related experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. 
  • Must have, or be able to acquire, an active counselor registration OR an active license;
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Clark County.
  • Candidates with bilingual skills and/or bicultural background, or experience working with diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
  • The starting salary range for a Master’s level therapist is $41,200-$46,350/yr. Starting salary range for a Bachelor’s level therapist is $36,460-$41,017/yr. Salary is determined on experience.
  • 10% salary add-on is applied for bilingual skills in certain languages.
