Essential Duties:
The job duties listed below are an overview of the essential duties and measures required to be successful in the position.  Please note that the listed examples do not include all tasks, which may be expected within this job position.

 
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and any menu or service changes
  • Follow every order to guarantee the guest is receiving what they ordered and special preparations and/or dietary restrictions are being taken into consideration
  • Prepare meals with quality ingredients using various methods such as slicing, carving, roasting, frying, steaming, marinating etc.
  • Ensure that meals come out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Adhere to Farmhouse Inn standards of quality, based on Executive, Estate, or Sous Chef’s training on quality and presentation
  • Cooperate with kitchen and food & beverage team members to provide smooth service
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures- maintain current California Food Handlers Card
  • Clean all work surfaces and stations after regular service is complete
  • Stock inventory as appropriate and assess workstation before each shift to ensure station is ready for dinner service
Pay Range:
The starting pay for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that Farmhouse Inn reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.


General Requirements:

Education
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Culinary Certification is a plus
 
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year experience food prepping or cooking in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Working with wood fire ovens.
 
Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and with composure
  • Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work interdepartmentally, with Restaurant, Kitchen, Spa and other Farmhouse teams
  • Maintain regular attendance, is consistently on time and complies with Farmhouse Inn standards
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs, weekend and holiday availability (Sundays are mandatory).  Please note that our restaurant is closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Physical Requirements:
  • Pushing & Pulling: up to 20lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally
  • Lifting & Carrying: average weight 30lbs frequently
  • Standing & Walking: constantly
  • Kneeling & Bending: frequently
  • Reaching: constantly
  • Need to be able to work in a standing position for prolonged period of time
