Corporate Finance Department is a 26-person team under the leadership of the Senior Director, Finance; spanning multiple disciplines in the running of various facets of the finance operations of GWL Realty Advisors Inc. (GWLRA).  Included in this department are Corporate Financial Reporting, Banking and Treasury, National Accounts Payable, Transaction Services Processing and Office Administration.  All the teams support our 9 regional offices across the country, US owned subsidiaries of GWLRA, and the GWLRA Executive team.  We also provide reporting to many external stakeholders along with internal stakeholders Canada Life. GWLRA has grown significantly in the past several years, including expansion into the US. 

This position is in the GWLRA Winnipeg Office.  We are looking for a strong candidate to join the organization and supporting our GWLRA Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this role will play a key role providing accounting, reporting and administrative support to the corporate finance area, and performing a variety of responsibilities which include the following:

 
RESPONSIBILITIES



Corporate Finance and Accounting 
  • Running Yardi Voyager and Excel based monthly financial statements for review of management
  • Creating and running PIVOT tables for actual to budget analysis by client and property revenue segment and variance analysis
  • Organizing and maintaining tracking and analysis of revenue and expenses transactions and accruals
  • Utilizing multiple excel formulas and formats to assist with annual budget preparation and projections of revenues and expenses
  • Funding of capital calls, share subscriptions, acquisitions deposits, credit facility, and cash management
  • Preparing Banking and Treasury requests (reconciliations to bank statements, adjusting entries, etc.)

Corporate entity Revenue Processing
  • Processing charges and receipts for all GWLRA revenues including monthly reconciliation of receivables.
  • Calculation and allocation of property management. Submitting fee invoice to client team for approval and facilitating full cycle transaction from the payee to the corporate entity.
 
Invoice Procurement & Payment
  • Administration of vendor and supplier setups and maintenance
  • Process journal entries for invoice allocations and monthly accruals
  • Coordinating payments of key disbursements for the organization including audit fees, taxes, legal, registration, corporate expense, and interest payments
  • Maintaining detailed payment trackers by vendor and expense type

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Business Administration Graduate (college program or university)
  • Currently enrolled in the CPA Program or focused education in accounting
  • Experienced with Microsoft office products and enjoys working with Excel
  • Experience in real estate considered an asset
  • Experience in auditing or working with external audit firms considered an asset
