GWL Realty Advisors, along with its internal property management company, GWLRA Residential Inc, manage nearly 10,000 quality rental units across the country and is actively growing its multi-residential portfolio through acquisition and development. 
Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for payable functions for a portfolio of multi-residential and mixed use properties across Canada. We are looking for an individual to join our team of real estate professionals who is excited to be part of building our fastest growing asset class and has a mindset of continuous improvement, business partnering, and a high standard of integrity. 


RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Process utility, telecommunication, and property tax bills by uploading them in the system, coding and sending through the approval workflow.
  • Set up utility accounts for new properties.
  • Work with the utility companies to close accounts for disposition properties.
  • Maintain tracking file for utilities to ensure we receive all bills on time.
  • Investigate any bills discrepancy, ensure payments are applied to the correct account.
  • Work with Treasury to investigate and fix any unreconciled items.
  • Work with other team members on all issues related to utilities and taxes.
  • Other projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 year accounting experience
  • Real estate or property management experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager or other real estate software combined with strong Excel capabilities
  • Collaborative team player who can work well with others to support a culture of continuous improvement and be a strong business partner to deliver value and assist the managers with training staff and documenting procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, to develop strong and collaborative working relationships up, down and across the organization to deliver business results
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple demands and competing priorities
