As the Manager, Strategic Initiatives  in the Building Excellence & Innovation team, you will play a vital role supporting new strategic  projects that will drive a long-term business transformation. This opportunity requires a highly nimble and agile influencer who can motivate and inspire people.  

You will work on innovative projects that will change how our organization operates while enhancing our reputation as a leader in our industry. You will inspire our organization to think differently by ensuring we are being efficient in our practices, operational tools and systems, ensuring resources are being used effectively and appropriately while also keeping company policies and procedures in mind. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure that our organization follows our philosophy of an “always learning, always curious” approach. This is an exciting yet challenging opportunity that requires someone who has been involved with large scale complex transformation projects that have produced high quality results at a top tier organization.  

You will participate in managing projects from conception to execution which includes managing timelines, budgets, communications, business goals, being aware of possible risks while being able to mitigate and driving completion of projects in collaboration with various stakeholders. You will work to manage results in order to ensure success and failures.  


  • 5 years of prior experience in project/ management or similar style role leading transformational initiatives  

  • Lean Six Sigma or any process improvement  designation 

  • PMP certification is an asset 

  • University degree related to Engineering or Business (preferred)  

  • A proven track record of leading change that impacted efficiencies and ROI 

  • An individual who is a strong representation of GWLRA’s values; Integrity, Ambition, Empathy and Creativity 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – after all you will be expected to inspire and lead change! 

  • A results-driven and passionate individual with an entrepreneurial mindset 

  • Previous experience working in a fast paced, high volume and complex environment with ability to overcome challenges & barriers  

  • Ability to manage all aspects of a large scale initiative from conception to execution to analysis  

  • An expert when it comes to process improvement & quality management
