Our multi-residential group is a specialized team of professionals with comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of Canada’s rental housing markets.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Multi Residential and based in Toronto, this role is responsible for leading high-priority initiatives while developing, guiding and mentoring a national asset management team.  Projects would include strategic analysis, acquisitions and dispositions, and people leadership and team development.  You would be expected to plan, design, and successfully execute solutions that positively impact the business and deliver results, while building strong relationships with property management team, senior management and our clients. 

You are drawn to this opportunity since you are passionate about the real estate industry and thrive on utilizing your intuitive people leadership skills and superior business acumen to mould the future success and direction of the business.  While exposure to multi-residential is considered an asset, your experience in fast paced and constant-changing industries will allow you to jump in and make instant impact. 

You must be an out of the box thinker who is able to manage competing priorities and at the same time, bring innovative and creative solutions to transform the business beyond the traditional model.  Among your areas of focus will be:

People Leadership:  Inspire and develop existing talent on the team, identify team strengths and opportunities.   Act as a mentor for asset managers and analysts to nurture a career path and help make the connection between their contributions and business success.  Make strategic hires based on current and future needs; hire for attitude and character not just aptitude.  Keep top of mind the impact on employee engagement for every decision and action.  Act as role model to encourage team and stakeholders to see things differently and embrace change.

Business Profitability and Overall Asset Management:  Focus leadership decisions on growing the business and driving profitability to maximize value for asset owners and the company.  Partner with the SVP, Multi-Residential and Multi-Family Senior Leadership team to own the performance of the business by making effective strategic decisions using historical results, accurate valuations, market research and trend analysis, and a deep understanding of the business and the industry.  Provide leadership and direction across various dynamic departments with accountability for national portfolio performance.   You will actively participate with development and acquisition activity including identifying growth opportunities. 

Your education in business, commerce or real estate coupled with a relevant designation (CFA, MBA, MA) provide the foundational background.  You are able to foster and nurture strong relationships internally as well as in the brokerage and real estate communities.  You will use your strong quantitative and consultative relationship skills to work closely with a variety of internal teams to become a trusted, strategic partner to move the business forward.  Your exceptional interpersonal and mentorship skills influence others to think of fresh ideas to invigorate the portfolio.
