We are looking for a full-cycle Senior Real Estate Accountant to service a portfolio of income-producing assets. You will manage rental billing, capital invoice management, operating cost recovery processes, monthly property financial reporting, audit, and forecasting. To succeed In this role, understanding numbers is important but interpreting results is critical!

  • Complete full cycle accounting for a portfolio of assets
  • Maintain the general ledger, including review and preparation of journal entries, accrual of revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Accurately complete required reports including monthly revenue and operating expense budget variance report and balance sheet analysis
  • Co-ordinate and prepare full-year estimates and annual operating budgets with various internal teams
  • Prepare year-end CAM and tax year end invoices and working paper files for external audit
  • Set up and maintain Yardi final recovery module for timely completion of tenant final billings
  • Review Yardi tenant abstracts for accuracy and data integrity and approve monthly rent rolls
  • Assist in acquisition and disposition process (due diligence)
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of training (when necessary)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle real estate accounting including final recoveries, year-end audits, exposure to forecasting and budgets, and lease interpretation
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting required, Accounting designation preferred
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills (pivot tables & formulas)
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while addressing multiple priorities
  • Highly collaborative with excellent communication and relationship buildings skills in addition to a nimble working style
  • Yardi Voyager 7S experience an asset
