Job Description: Building Maintenance Manager

General Summary:
Reports to General Manager

Primary Responsibility:
Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse with manicured lawns and managing the mechanical operation of a world-class facility is as important to Coast to Coast Distribution as providing quality products and great service to its customers. The building maintenance manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities. Join a facilities team that manages a 300,000 square foot distribution center in Georgetown Texas as well as a 124,000 square foot facility in Austin Texas.

Essential Functions:
  • Schedule, assign and perform duties in general cleaning, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing.
  • Monitor landscaping, office, janitorial, housekeeping and security performance.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for repair and maintenance work.
  • Respond to emergency facility requests.
  • Assist in the development and management of capital budgets.
  • Ensure accurate collection of all maintenance and work order records.
  • Maintain a variety of records and prepare reports for management review.
  • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
  • Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
  • Supervise facilities staff and communicate with external contractors and vendors.
  • Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
Experience and Skills:
  • 5+ years facilities experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Experience working with MEP systems.
  • Must be "hands-on" and assist in completing maintenance work.
  • Background working with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to understand and thrive in a high-volume work environment during extremely busy peaks season while executing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and collaborate with team members.
  • High attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • Possesses self and social awareness and manages relationships well.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or years of relevant work experience. (preferred)
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent  
Physical Requirements:
  • May be standing or sitting for extend period of times.
  • Some days of prolonged walking.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
